Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb Kielbasa Sausage Turkey or chicken kielbasa for a leaner option.
  • 8 oz Pasta Penne, fusilli, or whole wheat varieties.

Vegetables

  • 1 cup Bell Peppers Chopped.
  • 1 medium Onion Chopped.
  • 2 cups Spinach Fresh.

Flavor Enhancers

  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced.
  • 2 cups Chicken Broth Or vegetable broth for a lighter option.
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil For sautéing.
  • 1/2 cup Cheese Grated Parmesan or mozzarella.

Spices

  • 1/4 tsp Red Pepper Flakes Optional for a kick.

Preparation

  • Gather all the necessary ingredients.

Cooking Pasta

  • In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions. Drain and set aside, saving a cup of pasta water.

Sautéing Kielbasa

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced kielbasa and cook until browned and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.

Adding Vegetables

  • Add chopped onions and bell peppers to the skillet, sauté for 3-4 minutes. Then add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

Combining Ingredients

  • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with kielbasa and vegetables. Pour in chicken broth and a splash of reserved pasta water. Stir well to combine.

Seasoning

  • Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Let it simmer for a few minutes.

Serving

  • Serve hot, garnished with grated cheese or chopped herbs.
